One Year Retirement Cake

Well its been one whole year since Brenda (my old boss) retired. So whats better than celebrating with cake, coffee, laughter and a good ol catch up? I surprised her earlier this week with a mini choco mud cake. (Sorry the photos are terrible)

Tennis Cake

This tennis cake was made for three boys, all brothers, whom all play tennis. They are all top of their tennis league and will be ones to watch out for when they get a bit older. How neat for them, to share their birthday together. The cake was my favourite... chocolate mud cake. This one is made with four cakes, so thats four blocks of chocolate too. Yummy! I was really pleased with the result. The boys had a fantastic birthday party and love playing with the tennis rackets too. Their mum informed me they are already planning their bigger and better cake next year.

80th Birthday Cake

This cake was made for a lovely lady, to be shared with her family and rest home companions. It was a dense orange cake and with chocolate fondant- I wanted it to taste like jaffa every mouthful. Very simple and my rose making is starting to get better...

Princess cake

This 'Princess Cake' was made for a special 5 year old. The birthday party was lovely, I was a bit worried when all the children started to play with the butterflies, but thats the fun with custom made cakes.. and 5 year old birthday parties. It was such a challenge to cover the cake with fondant - 2 1/2 packets! I learnt how to make the flowers online, there are some great tutorials out there. My flower making is getting better, these ones are a bit thick. Sorry about the quality of photos, unfortunately I don't have a proper camera maybe one day....
